how the hell did we get the idea pink isn’t a cool colour

because scientifically speaking pink doesn’t even exist; it fits between violet and red on the spectrum but actually what goes there is infrared and ultraviolet and all those things we can’t see

pink is the ambassador of an otherworldly and unknowable realm it is the most badass colour out there

that is literally not how it works

this scene really got me. I think it’s a perfect example of people’s views on abortions.

For 75 years 1000+ children have been sent into the arena to fight for survival for the enjoyment of the richest people. Then along with that there are a million+ children across the other districts living in abstract poverty. All of them too, fighting for survival. The chance for them to move up in the world is virtually impossible because they don’t have the tools to do so and the people above them have kept them down as much as possible.

However the idea that a foetus, a blob of cells, is at risk and suddenly they stand up and protest.

Too much value is placed on the unborn, and not enough on those already alive.

SOMEONE FINALLY SAID THE THING *THANK YOU*

it’s abject poverty not abstract poverty jesus fucking christ

St. Vincent // Leeds Met Student Union

(Awful picture I know, but she requested that no one filmed her set so, out of respect, I only took one photo after the concert had finished.)

As far as I can remember, this was the setlist:

1. Rattlesnake (the sound cut just after the solo began, so there was an impromptu drum solo, after which the crowd encouraged Annie to down a glass of wine (‘I’m a fucking lady!’). She then proceed to tell the only joke she knew (‘what’s the difference between jelly and jam? I can’t jelly my dick down your throat’). The band then left the stage whilst the technical issues were dealt with - they all responded to the situation in a very professional manner.)
2. Digital Witness
3. Cruel
4. Marrow
5. Every Tear Disappears
6. I Prefer Your Love
7. Surgeon
8. Cheerleader
9. Prince Johnny
10. Birth In Reverse
11. Huey Newton
12. Bring Me Your Loves
Encore:
12. Strange Mercy (Annie solo)
14. Your Lips Are Red
